In 2000 Ytje got her B.A. in Illustration at the Academy for Visual Arts and Design in Kampen, The Netherlands.

In 2004 she was awarded a grant for starting designers by the Fund for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture, Amsterdam.

Ytje is a member of the BNO (Guild for Dutch Designers) illustration platform and she writes for Ooglijm.nl, the cyberzine for design and imageculture, initiated by the BNO.

Ytje is represented by Unit Creative Managment Agency Amsterdam.

Visiting lectureship:

Lectureships were given at the the Academy for Visual Arts and Design in Kampen, The Netherlands. Since 2003 the Academy has moved to Zwolle where it became the ‘CABK Zwolle’.

2007:
Workfield day: Ytje participated in an alumni committee which critiqued work of graduate illustration students and gave advice in regard to entrepreneurship.

Since 2005, Ytje teaches ‘drawing in perspective’ classes twice a year at the Academy for the Arts in Zwolle, The Netherlands. These classes are geared towards people who’d like to attend art school.
