Collaborations

Collabs and project coordination bled over to the art side of my practice. Since working in a team on the VR documentary Another Dream, I am involved in - Web3 - projects, working alongside an international network of artists.

Hard Boiled Keksters (2023)

Hard Boiled Keksters is Kekleberry's latest collection featuring ultra-fun little keksters - hybrid-eggs with multiple personalities developed with human sentiments and Web 3.0 moods. The genesis collection of these keksters is fully inscribed on the Bitcoin Ordinals.

Every Kekster in the collection has been thoughtfully and meticulously hand-drawn to bring out the character's personality. Far from being generic, each piece features distinct shapes, colors, and traits that accentuate its uniqueness.

The expansion features all artists in the Kekleberry team including Rutger van der Tas and an anon advisor, alongside well established crypto artists and illustrators Moxarra, Ytje Veenstra and Tom Abbink.

Mariupol (2022)

1937. As Spain War was at its apogee, Franco with his Nazi allies bombed civilians for the first time in the city of Guernica.

85 years later. Soldiers are engaging in a war by bombing Mariupol, Kyiv and other cities, and millions of civilians are on the run, scattered over Europe away from their home.

Within 3 weeks 38 artists created a massive collaboration.

All the funds and royalties go to “Voices of Children” to bring psychological support to child victims of war.

'Mariupol' was displayed during the Non-Fungible Conference in Lisbon, Portugal in April 4-5 2022, created under the supervision of The Guild.

Artists : Rutger van der Tas, 0xMJ, Shinji Akhirah, Jetski, Ytje Veenstra, ROBNESS, Skeenee, Mightymoose, jivinci, crashblossom, oficinastk, orabel, Jæn, emmavauloup, Shortcut, 8thproject, Louis16art, fabianospeziari, XERAK, abysms, carlasafe, Nino Arteiro, Magusz, dasNeves, BOOYASAN, Airco Caravan, GertJanAkerboom, LUVRworldwide, Marcotic, Niels Broszat, Tom Abbink, ejthek, Pule the dr, Sparrow, Miss al simpson, Angie Taylor, Agoria, Teto.

And There Was Light (2022)

The Dutch NFT Association (DNA) is a collaboration between artists from both The Guild, Arthouse and beyond (within the borders of the Netherlands). These Dutch artists are big crypto art enthusiasts and see NFT’s as a means to approach the creative process in a whole new way. Web3 offers them endless opportunities, which they are keen to explore.

Async Art offers a lot of potential to artists on a technological level, the Blueprint is one of them. Layering the works of art contributed by the artists, it generates editions, each one unique. Styles and visions are remixed. Ego is dead, long live collabs!

Year of the 0x (2022)

The Guild began this project as a tribute to the Lunar Ox Year that coincides with the Ethereum bull run and astronomical explosion of NFTs as a medium. It is a work of struggle, of celebration, of premonition and of jubilation.

An initial composition of color was created by Shinji Akhirah which helped to inform the delegation of sections via a randomizer. Each artist was randomly assigned an area on the canvas to complete their part. This collaboration captures original artwork by 38 different artists - infusing each part of the piece with their own unique style to complete the 12 different animals and setting with the central focus being placed on the Ox ("0x" or "ZeroX" as he's occasionally referred to).

We present you with the "Year of The 0x" - a celebration of creativity, Chinese astrology and the globally collaborative CryptoArt movement.

Sports Icon Lion Club (2021)

This collaboration between SportsIcon & The Guild features a first for both teams... The first Sports Club collectible avatar project of its kind and a first art generative project for the artists from The Guild.

Each of the 9000 lions are unique and programmatically generated from over 100 hand drawn possible traits. Artist team: Tom Abbink, Pule the Witch Dr, Toemoss and Arvid Hjörth and me. I also did the art direction and coordinated the project from the Guild side.

Cyber Watch (2021)

This is the first big collab cryptoartist collective The Guild has made on Async. It is based on the famous painting The Night Watch by Rembrandt (1642). This was initiated and coordinated by Rutger van der Tas.

This programmable work of art consists of 34 layers, resulting in 107 different states (the appearance can change by changing the layers separately).

A total of 34 layers make this Cyber Watch containing 107 different states made by 33 artists worldwide.

The painting of De Nachtwacht depicts members of a militia, founded to protect citizens against robbers and enemy outside forces. This made me think about my grandmother, who, at nineteen, was a member of the Resistance in the North of the Netherlands during World War II. She smuggled supplies and weapons past German checkpoints. After the war, she declined a royal decoration, offered by the Queen, because she was convinced being in the Resistance was her civil duty. I depicted my grandmother three times: as a young girl, as a nineteen year old during the war(with a royal decoration) and as a grandmother.

Another Dream (2019)

Another Dream (Ado Ato Pictures, Amsterdam) brings a true love story of an Egyptian lesbian couple to life. Faced with a post-revolution backlash against the LGBTQ community, they escape Cairo to seek asylum and acceptance in the Netherlands. Part of a Multi-Platform Project (Film, VR Experience, Web Interactive).

As Lead VR Animator on this project, I created and animated 3D characters in VR, using the VR app AnimVR.

The documentary premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in NYC and won several awards (Sheffield Doc Fest, ANIDOX Denmark). It was nominated for a Gouden Kalf for Best Immersive.
